The About section is always the bragging area (not my strong suite) so let’s start with the alphabet soup:

AAVS: Associates of Visual Communications, BSB/MKT: Bachelors of Science in Business focus in Marketing, MBA: Masters of Business Administration.

Why is the alphabet soup relevant? Because I am a trained designer and marketer with a solid business background. Part Creative, Part Analyst, Part Entrepreneur. I started my company in 2010.

In my career I have been afforded the ability to become a Swiss Army Knife. My training, education and professional experience has allotted me to be more than just a photographer. I have been a Director of Marketing, An Art Director, A Brand Manager and many other titles that were given to me. If you want to call me just a photographer, that is perfect, I will take that label with great pride, as it is my chosen medium and main love.

Photographers Philosophy: Being a photographer allows me to deepen my understanding of people, places and things around me. That we are all connected through the most simple and often overlooked concept, humanity. We all simply exist and strive for the human element. With any luck, we do it with intensity, patience, understanding and a little bit of humor.

Being a photographer, I am a natural observer, it is a humbling and powerful ability to capture moments and freeze time. We are record keepers, story tellers and documentarians of life. The more I capture, witness and observe, the more I appreciate being a student of the world. Being a photographer takes a lot of skill and study, and math, believe it or not. But it also takes being able to be incredibly patient and observing what is going on around you. For me, it has gone beyond studying light and technique and has moved into studying the shadows.

“The eye should learn to listen before it looks”.

*The tank top is from a friend of mine who is a trainer and she is an incredibly talented and gifted human being. I support her and all she does. The shirt is not meant to offend, it is meant for showing respect to a dear friend of mine who owns who she is and motivates everyone around her to do the same.
